Hello Families,

We are excited to announce that we will be celebrating our second annual Career Day on Thursday, February 23, 2023!

We are asking for volunteers to participate in Career Day to help our Eagles learn about various career choices to help them explore their interests, skills, and goals. Guest speakers will be asked to speak to students for 10 minutes for PreK-2 and up to 30 minutes for 3-5. We are planning on having guest speakers visit our PreK-2nd grade classrooms in the morning between 8:00 and 10:30. If possible, we would like our guest speakers to meet with our students in grades 3-5 as grade levels in our school cafeteria between 1:45 and 2:55 that afternoon.

If you, a family member, or a friend are interested in being a Career Day presenter by sharing about what you do for a living, please fill out the form below.

Our students are excited to learn from you.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at rakkus@hramonytx.org, or (512) 494-5151 ext. 189.

Thank you in advance for your help!

Students will take tests called Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®). We give students MAP tests to determine your child’s instructional level and to measure academic growth throughout the school year, and from year to year in the areas of Math (K-5), Reading (K-5), and Science (4-5).

MAP tests are unique in that they adapt to be appropriate for your child’s level of learning. As a result, each student has the same opportunity to succeed and maintain a positive attitude toward testing.  And with MAP tests, we can administer shorter tests and use less class time while still receiving detailed, accurate information about your child’s growth. Following each testing period, you will receive a report showing your child’s growth.

MAP Testing will begin on Tuesday, January 17th – Friday, February 3rd.

Come enjoy some hands-on STEAM Activities and presentations from the 4-5 Grade science fair participants.

January 26th, from 4:30-6:00 pm.

In accordance with the Texas State Plan for the Education of Gifted/Talented students, Harmony Public Schools will begin taking referrals for all interested students in grades K-12 for Gifted and Talented (G/T) screening.
Anyone interested in the educational welfare of these students may nominate them for assessment. Students in grades 1 & up who were tested in Fall 2022 are not eligible to test in Spring 2023. Referral forms are available at the front office and on the school’s website (see below).
The referral forms must be returned or emailed to the front office by January 31, 2023. The Spring GT testing window is set by the campus in February or March. Campuses may elect to use NWEA MAP scores as a prescreening criterion for GT Testing.
For more information about the screening and identification process, parents may contact the school’s GT Coordinator/Teacher.
